Stellarium for Nokia N900

11:37 AM |

Stellarium is a planetarium application for N900. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope. It also has an intuitive user interface allows control of GPS and accelerometers.

Still not in the Maemo repository, so it must be installed via deb, we must use Gainroot (found in the file manager).
Follow these steps to install Stellarium:

  1. Get the deb file and copy the documents folder of N900.
  2. Enter to the X-Terminal and type:
    root
    dpkg -i /home/usr/MyDocs/stellarium_0.10.3r4182-1_armel.deb
  3. If it gives an error after installation, type this:
    root
    apt-get install libqt4-maemo5-core libqt4-maemo5-opengl libqt4-maemo5-network libqt4-maemo5-gui
    libqt4-maemo5-script libqt4-maemo5-svg libqt4-maemo5-test libqt4-maemo5-xml libqt4-maemo5-dbus
